Abstract

A wiki page is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify the content. In software engineering, the high importance of understanding well what stakeholders asked and what they want along a project is generally recognized. Wiki pages may play an important role in requirements engineering and along the entire project, making the connection between the stakeholders and the development team tighter, as they can foster an active participation from both sides. When the stakeholders are participative, most commonly, it will be easier to understand the wishes and their objectives, which in turn raises the probability of achieving a successful project. This article demonstrates that different wiki pages must be used with different stakeholders, in order to make them more effective, more comfortable with the page and make the project more attractive for them. Gender is the characteristic being studied in this article, whereby stakeholders may differ. An inquiry was made in order to get the preferences from different types of people who use wiki pages in different ways, with different perspectives, being the results compared between women and men.

Index Terms — Collaborative work, interaction, questionnaire, wiki pages.
